Travel by plane to Middlesbrough

The county Middlesbrough can be reached at different ways. Through the air, there are two airports to be found. The one closer, the other a little further away. The two airports that are closest to the city are:

Durham Tees Valley Airport (MME)

This is one of the smaller airports in England. The airport is due to regular scheduled services such as KLM, and by the smaller charter airlines such as Small Planet Airlines. There are also aircraft only in a particular season fly to this airport as Eastern Airways. The airport is 15 miles from the center of Middlesbrough away. At the airport you can use different types of private transport. A relaxed transfer after a long flight in a taxi or private car with driver who takes care of your luggage who doesn’t  wants that?

Newcastle Airport (NCL)

This is the largest airport in the northeast of England. This airport is inspired by many European airlines, some examples are: Air France, Air Malta  and Easy Jet
So you see that the airport is serviced by different types of companies both by low cost airlines and charter airlines. There is also a company that flies from outside Europe namely, Emirates.
From this airport, there are several opportunities for private or public transport. So you can hail a taxi or bus, train or metro.

Travel by road to Middlesbrough

The New Castle Airport is located in the heart of the North East of England and is well connected by road. The A1 is an easily accessible and the main highway from the northeast. It runs along the airport so you can’t miss it. From the A1, you can get to different highways in different directions. Such as the A74 and the A696.
Also from the Teesside Valley Airport you can go on the highway to Middlesbrough. From the parking lot of the airport you drive onto one of the major highways such as the A67, A1, A19 and A66. You can also reach different places from this airport.

Tours in County Middlesbrough

As you saw is Middlesbrough in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. In this city you can find the Stewart Park. The Stewart Park consists of forest and woods, with a piece of open park on the northern side. There are two lakes with ducks and geese. There is also a farm located in the park with, llamas, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and many more animals. Also, the park is the perfect location for events.

In this city you will find the Ormesby Hall. This is a public hall where the public can experience the lifestyle of the Pennyman during the Victorian era. It also houses the horses of the Mounted Section Cleveland police. So for the true horse lovers there is something going on.

What to see during your tour in Middlesbrough with a hired minibus

Prissick Plaza Skate Park

This is one of the biggest and best skate parks in the region. For the active tourists among us this park is highly recommended. The huge concrete park is built around a platform in the middle with three different steps and rails suitable for skateboards. You can ride the park with a BMX bike, scooters and inline skates. Of course it can also just with your skateboard! The park also has a steel bowl and ramps. The park is safe and is staffed daily by security. It is completely safe for you to take a peek in this park. It also costs only £ 3.50 to enter the park.

The Middlesbrough Football Club

Imagine you are standing at the entrance of the tunnel. You can feel the sense of past victories. You can visit the dressing rooms where the stars prepare every week for a big game. It is all very real when you enter the hallowed turf of the tunnel. You can see where the interviews are being hold with the coach and players. See the trophy case, the hall of fame and the control room. Go where only the VIPs go. This can be done by a tour through the stadium. You can also have lunch throughout the week in the cafe of the stadium and in the summer is the training field available to visitors.

The Captain James Cook Museum

Through his explorations in life, seafaring career and legacy of his travels you can find out  why this man was the world"s famous navigator. The museum was opened on 28 October 1978, this was the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook. It is built on a special place in the Stewart Park in Marton, the birthplace of Captain James Cook. The museum tells the story of one of the greatest navigators and sailors in the world through galleries of original artifacts, exhibitions and related activities and events. They also organize a program with lively education. There is full access for disabled people and they have more features such as:

- The Discovery Room (education and activities)

- The Endeavour Room (for meetings and events)

- The RRI Room (for archival and research)

- A gift and bookstore

- A cafe

Shopping in Middlesbrough

1. The Cleveland Mall

It is the largest shopping center in the whole of Middlesbrough. It is located in the heart of the city and includes stores such as H & M, Boots, New Look, Topshop and BHS. It is open 7 days a week and is easily accessible by the A66.

2. The Captain Cook Square

It is located in the heart of Middlesbrough and has a large number of shops and cafes in his possession to have a great shopping experience to the whole family. The following stores are there included: Waterstones, TK Maxx, MFC Retail and That"s Entertainment. For a snack or just a cup of coffee you can go to one of the bakeries and cafes as Thomas the Baker and the Gallery at Wilkinson.

Food in Middlesbrough

The city offers a wide range of different types and flavors restaurant. A few of those restaurants are:

This restaurant is located on Linthorpe Road, with a continental style and at first floor a wine bar. They have the perfect setting, whatever your mood is.
