The 18th century Bagore-ki-Haveli is an old palace with over 100 rooms and a large collection of Mehaw paintings.
With a bus driver you can easily cover Udaipur"s outlaying attractions in one day. Start at Ahar Musuem and marvel at 250 cenotaphs that have been built over 350 years. It"s easy to get lost within the maze of these 4 metre high domed buildings. Eklingji Temple is one of the most famous in Rajasthan and is 22km away. Then head south east to Jagat village and the 10th century Jagat temple which is famous for i intricately carved exteriors. On the way back stop at Nagda, a complex of big and small temples, the most famous of which is the Sas Bahu Temple.
From Udaipur in the south of Rajasthan most groups with a coach head north towards Jodhpur and the sights of the central region. It"s a 5 hour drive to Jodhpur but there are a couple of great places to break the journey. Try either Mount Abu (1.5 hour), Rajasthan"s only hill station or head east towards Bundi, an old desert oasis. On the way north you"ll pass the green hills of through Kumbhal Garh National Park which are dotted with occasional memories of India"s colonial past.
