The muZIEum has been nominated as "The Cutest daytrip´ in Gelderland. MuZIEum is a museum in Nijmegen. It will give visitors information about living with visual disabilities. The Valkhofpark is the oldest park in Nijmegen and one of the oldest city parks in the Netherlands. It is a romantic place with lots of green, beautiful statue´s and great views. The Par is located at the riverside, downtown , close the Waal bridge. Also Valkhof museumis located at this place. Valkhof Museum has a large and important collection of Roman archeology. The center of Nijmegen is not big and a bit unclear. The central point is a square in the center, called the Grote Markt. The square is cosy with nice terraces, it is simple and elegant with well-preserved historic buildings and several cafés. The square gives you a authentic Dutch feeling. The Big market is a short walk away from the Waal and the main shopping area. The driver of the coach could take a break. He or she could enjoy a cup of tea in one of the many cafes which are located on this square.

In all the cities of the Netherlands you can see hundreds of people using a bike for going to work, school and the supermarket. The National Bicycle Museum Velorama is the only bicycle museum in the Netherlands. It contains a large collection of bikes from many years ago. The first cycle, which is made in 1800 can be seen. Nijmegen has a lot of specialties, but one thing you will always found here is the Mariken Bread. This is a raisin bread with cream. Mariken van Nimwegen. was the main character in a 16th century theatre. In the story Mariken did a lot of wrong thing. Finally she asks forgiveness. She got three iron rings around her neck and arms. After years of penance, the rings fall off of her, her sins are forgiven her. She dies in peace. The round shape of this bread shows the iron rings that Mariken had hung around.
Flores Bistro is located close the Valkhof park. Everything is fresh and natural. They have limited quantities of everything. On a blackboard, you can see which dishes are still available and which are (almost) sold out. It is not possible to make a reservation, only if you are coming with a group.
Pasta e fagioli is located at the Van Welderenstraat near the Emperor Charles Square. This restaurant has an Italian kitchen. Price level for this restaurant is low. Interior is nice. The tables are covered with tablecloths, napkins and lovely wine glasses.
In the Blauwe Hand is located at the rear Hoofdwacht. This street is centrally located in the city center. In de Blauwe Hand is the oldest pub in Nijmegen. Inside it is small and cozy. There is a large selection of beers. You could also have dinner, lunch of some snacks. They use a lot of products from the region. That makes the food fresh and healthy.

After a day of culture, do you want to join the nightlife of Nijmegen? Nijmegen has a lot to offer. Molenstraat is the name of the street where the most of the bars are located. This street is also in the center. A few of nice pubs in Molenstraat are Stretto , Cafe van Buren and De drie gezusters.
Stretto : The atmosphere in this pub is cozy. The most of the people knows each other. You don’t have to pay entrance, but minimum age of 18 years is required. In general, most of the songs are karaoke songs. The Stretto will be open on Saturday from 19:00 to 04:00 o"clock.
De drie gezusters: This bar consists of three separate bars, De Grote Griet, Heidi’s Skihut and De Drie Gezusters. For De drie gezusters entrance of €3,- is required. The entrance provides access to the three cafes. De drie gezusters is open on Saturday from 18:00 until 04:00 o"clock.
Cafe van Buuren: This cafe is available for lunch in the afternoon and is open on Saturday until from 12:00 until 04:00 o"clock.
