To start off your trip with bus or minibus rental with driver around La Gomera, we recommend to visit some of the nature parks, such as Garajonay Nature Park (Parque Nacional de Garajonay), the highest point on the island, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, with great flora and fauna and where you can see the mountaintops of the park covered in clouds due to the high humidity; this is considered the best-protected park with the most-intact ecosystem on the Canary Islands. You can continue your tour to Great King Valley (Valle Gran Rey), with its volcanic sand; additionally, the valley has great historic and cultural value and is surrounded by palm trees and traditional buildings.
La Gomera Island also offers visitors many options for having a night of fun, laughter, and relaxation in a traditional and fascinating environment, among which is Discoteca El Camello in San Sebastián de la Gomera.
Before traveling home, you absolutely have to visit some local restaurants, such as Parador de La Gomera in San Sebastián de la Gomera, which has a view of the ocean, traditional island architecture, and a varied menu with a house special of “cazuela de pescados gomeros” (Gomero fish casserole); Restaurant La Molina in Agulo, with traditional Gomeran food in a friendly environment with views of the city; or el Restaurant La Tasca in San Sebastián de la Gomera, where the house special is “ensalada marina” (seafood salad).

Without having to travel very far from the city of San Sebastián de la Gomera, you can enjoy the beaches, such as San Sebastián Beach, Cave Beach, Guancha Beach, among many others that are near the city and throughout the entire island.
Take a walk and visit the traditional village of Chejelipes, located in the La Villa gully with its mere 40 inhabitants. Visit La Gomera Archeological Museum, where you can take a journey from the present to the past by going through the three floors of the museum.
Since the city’s downtown area is so small, you won’t even need transportation to take a tour of downtown, where you can see The Cathedral and The Count’s Tower; the latter is the only medieval fortification still standing and is the oldest Hispanic-era building in the city; it’s also home to a 16th century reliquary. Admire the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción), which was built over the remains of an ancient hermitage and which has spectacular frescos inside that commemorate the victory of the Gomerans over the invaders. The building was renovated during the second half of the 18th century. Or take a short five-minute walk to the port where you can catch a ride on the island’s buses or the catamarans that go all the way to Christian Port (Puerto de los Cristianos) in Tenerife.
